Those tools aren’t easy on a touchscreen, especially if you’re using a small device. The solution is to connect a MIDI controller and leave your tracks with an actual physical instrument.
Synthesizers and pianos used to be cheap for casual hobbyists, but these days you can pick up a small MIDI keyboard for around $50 and compare the two on your Apple device. (We use an iPad because it has more music apps, but a MIDI controller will work just as well on an iPhone.) First, you need to buy a MIDI controller. There are plenty of them out there, and the good news is that they work the same or better. We used the AKAI LPK25 (around $50/£40) for our test because we liked its sturdy base and pressure-sensitive keys, but MIDI keys should work. Spend more and you can get octaves, major keys and drums.
Most of these TVs have USB cables, which means you need an adapter to connect to an iPhone or iPad. If you have a Lightning port (older iPhones and iPads), you’ll need to buy a Lightning to USB camera adapter like this one. If you have a new iPad with USB-C, you should get a USB-C to USB adapter instead. Don’t expect to buy Apple brand cables. shop around and there are much better options.

Once you have the necessary packages, simply connect the controller to the iPhone or iPad. that’s all. Unlike the old days of desktop computers, there are no settings to install or configure drivers. IOS will automatically recognize the device. You will see an interactive screen displayed in the status bar showing the activity.
Then simply load a program that is compatible with the MIDI keys. GarageBand is a good place to start. load it and select Alchemy Synth from the list of tools. You can select a specific keyboard sound by clicking on the name of the current sound at the top of the screen. There are loads to choose from.
But GarageBand is far from your only option here. Search the App Store for synths, pianos, or drums and you’ll see how many will work easily with your new kit.
