Govt Jobs For Software Engineers In India – Software Engineering Graduates in India: How it Shapes the State’s Professional Profile In this blog, we have explored the job outcomes of software engineering graduates in India and ranked the states by “job rank”.
India is a diverse country and diversity applies to software engineering graduates across states. Engineering education in India has grown in the last decade and boasts of thousands of program engineering colleges spread across the country producing more than one million program engineering graduates every year. However, quantity does not always translate into quality. In fact, in the National Employment Report, we found that the quality of software engineers in India has remained largely unchanged over the past decade.
Govt Jobs For Software Engineers In India
Companies around the world want to achieve their recruitment goals quickly and confidently, whether they are recruiting early adopters in India or from outside India looking to build a team in India. The need for a balance between quantity and quality has raised questions across industries. How many people with a software engineering degree can produce good code and be technically competent? Topics such as ‘hiring software graduates’ in India are emerging. The term “Employability” refers to the percentage of software graduates who are able to meet job performance expectations.

That’s why the Technology Recruitment Research Group surveyed the employment of software engineering graduates in 2019 with 120,000 software engineers from across India. We focused on the numbers rather than the quality of some states. Our research team conducted regional studies in Technology Services, Technology Products and Businesses to determine the main reasons for changes in the quality of talent being produced and the percentage of candidates waiting for job performance. Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) Firms in India.
It is clear that employment in technical services companies is highest in the North, then the East, then the West, then the South. Delhi and Bihar-Jharkhand meet business performance expectations in the region with the highest software load. Delhi has emerged as an educational hub with elite colleges, high educational standards and attracting the best minds of the country (see Figure 1).
There are also several software engineering colleges in several states in India. The report looked at the ranking of states considered ‘software engineering hubs’ for jobs in the technical services sector. States with more public colleges than private colleges are known to perform better in the workplace. Performance rating by software engineering center:
As we saw above, there are differences in the expected percentage of job results across states. Our research team is trying to find factors that might explain the dramatic differences in numbers across states. Factors such as state population, state size, number of colleges, gender distribution, etc. as a possible explanation.

We believe that only a small number of software engineering colleges in the state influence the results of the student population in the state. If there are fewer software engineering schools, there are more jobs and vice versa. To test this hypothesis, we analyzed the relationship between the expected percentage of job outcomes and the number of software engineering colleges in each state.
Figure 2: Expected percentage of employment outcomes related to the number of software engineering colleges in each state
Interestingly, the highest correlation (at -0.834) was found between the percentage of software engineers qualified to work in technical services and the number of colleges in a state. This means that as the number of colleges in the province increases, their employability decreases. Interestingly, adjusting the equation for population or country size does not improve the result. Maybe literacy rate, education level, per capita income etc. may be useful for further understanding. As a result, the addition of more software engineering colleges to the state has led to a decline in the percentage of high-quality software engineers, indicating their lack of job prospects. The disturbed area is shown in Figure 2.
As the number of software engineering colleges in a given state increases, the percentage of engineers waiting for jobs decreases, which clearly shows that opening more software engineering colleges will not solve the quality problem of software engineers in the country. Instead of opening more software engineering colleges, the state should focus on improving the educational standards of existing software engineering colleges.
India Is Set To Become The World’s Most Populous Country. Can It Create Enough Jobs?
Second, although the number of colleges is a major factor in determining career success, it does not fully explain it. For example, although Tamil Nadu has fewer software engineering colleges (~600) compared to Andhra Pradesh (~750), it has a lower employment rate (8.33 compared to 12.73). Similarly, Delhi has more colleges than Bihar, but employment is higher. In summary, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh lag behind in terms of talent, while in metros Delhi has the best software engineers, followed by Kolkata and Bangalore.
The percentage of productivity expectations in government is a complex influence due to several socio-economic and developmental factors. What is needed is more emphasis on improving the quality of software engineering education.
Regarding technical product companies (see Figure 3), the trends are different. While English and comprehension skills are essential for hiring tech services, coding and algorithms are also needed at tech product companies. Because of this, college education equates to job outcomes in the technology industry compared to the impact of the quality of students entering college. This is evidenced by the fact that the correlation between the number of students and the log for technical services companies decreases from 0.83 to 0.72. The number of colleges is a fair proxy for the quality of admissions.
The three states, namely Uttarakhand, Kerala and Chhattisgarh, show significant variation in the expected percentage of business results in technology services and technology products companies. While Kerala and Chhattisgarh have improved their position in technological manufacturing, Uttarakhand has declined. This is an indication of better education within the colleges of Kerala and Chhattisgarh.
Software Engineering Courses After 12th
We compared the percentage of performance expectations for all colleges among the nation’s largest metros (see Table 1). We found similar trends in performance across provinces. Among the cities Delhi (North) West, Kolkata (East) had the least number of enrollments in urban colleges in the South.
The variation in the percentage of expected performance is very high, for example, the performance of a tech product in Delhi is as low as 9 to 1, and as low as 200 to 1 in Chennai. Although Bengaluru has a similar share of technical services activity, compared to other cities in the South and West, technical products companies are significantly more likely to meet performance expectations. This suggests that even though Bengaluru candidates show similar English and comprehension skills, they perform better in coding and algorithms. This can be the best experience of coding at home, school or college.
This breakdown is explained by the trend in the number of colleges in each city (see Table 2 below). The proliferation of software engineering colleges in South India and the West has reduced the expected percentage of job performance. There are small software engineering colleges in Delhi and Calcutta – this is because Delhi has a larger population than the cities in the south and is comparable to Mumbai.
Tech companies around the world want to reach their hiring goals with confidence, and that means hiring high-quality software engineers. With hundreds of thousands of software engineering graduates in India, the percentage of graduates waiting for job results is uneven. Our research has provided guidance for hiring managers and executives who want to build a team in India. The “employability” of government-based software graduates in India is complicated by many socio-economic and developmental factors. Hiring managers should focus on finding software engineers with technical skills and abilities, not smart book writers.
