Ultra-short-throw (UST) projectors are often marketed as TV replacements because they can project a large image in a very short distance and have a smaller footprint than any TV. But the truth is, these are still projects, and expensive ones at that. The Best Home Projectors For 2023
If you have a projector, you need to get a screen. Most modern projectors are bright enough to cast a good image in white, but you won’t get the right colors without the right screen. The mounting arms are highly adjustable and removable, so they can accommodate anything from a small DLP projector to large JVC D-ILA projectors that are games will not accept them. After years of using this mount and going through many test projects, we are yet to find one that the Peerless-AV can’t handle.

For a home projector that you will use mostly in a dark room, we recommend at least 1,000 ANSI lumens for a 100-inch screen. If you plan to use the projector in a room with more light, you’ll want brighter: at least 1,500 ANSI lumens (preferably 2,000 or more). The bigger the screen you want, the brighter the projector needs to be to produce a satisfactory picture. Often the properties of the lights stated by the manufacturers are exaggerated, so it is better to rely on the actual results measured by reliable testers. Some manufacturers use LEDs instead of standard bulbs as the light source in their projectors, and list the brightness in “LED lumens” instead of ANSI lumens to give a number that high.
