Criminal Justice Bachelors Degree Schools – Humber’s Bachelor of Social Science – Criminal Justice Honors provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the criminal justice system and ways to analyze real-world problems and opportunities to assess societal responses and individual actions in wrongdoing. Supported by a faculty team with diverse research and field experience, the curriculum combines theory and application to provide students with rich learning and life experiences. Emphasis will be placed on exploring the systemic constraints of crime and the experiences of marginalized groups, the psychological understanding of crime, and contemporary social justice issues.
In the first year of study, students, together with their peers from the Faculty of Social and Public Services, will participate in the social science foundation year. From years two to four, the curriculum focuses on criminal responsibility. Critical knowledge and skills are developed through collaborative group projects and presentations to help prepare for a fast-paced and dynamic career in justice. Students also complete a study loan that is integrated into work (part-time or full-time). This interdisciplinary approach contributes to the development of the practical skills of our students.

Students participate in 420 hours of field experience full-time or part-time. Field experiences provide students with learning opportunities that allow them to apply academic and academic content to real-world work experiences. Humber automatically awards degree transfer scholarships to students enrolled in a Humber degree program who have earned a one-year Ontario college certificate* or a two- or three-year degree with an 80 percent or higher GPA from a publicly funded college. Students achieving a program GPA of 80 percent or higher will receive a one-time scholarship of $1,500 for a certificate program or $2,500 for a bachelor’s degree program to improve their academic standing.
