Their parents have saved up, in some cases for decades, to give their children the opportunity to study abroad in the United States. These families understand the tremendous benefit a degree from an accredited American university can bring to their careers.
But what about the rest? Most people around the world live on less than $10 a day. As they struggle to provide their families with basic necessities, what hope do they have of raising money to send their children to the United States?

And what about the millions of busy adults in the US who don’t have an education? Many of them are raising children or caring for family members with disabilities – all in between work shifts, commuting and trying to get enough sleep.

Our non-profit organization currently operates over 70 servers. We have 30 teachers and developers. (Many of these people work part-time. Some of them are also professors at universities).
We were able to make a difference by seeking grants from dozens of partners. For example, we partnered with New Relic to develop this Open Telemetry course. We partnered with Snyk to develop this DevSecOps course.
Thanks to the support of these partners, we have been able to recruit more teachers and teach a wider range of developer tools. But this is only the beginning. If we want to offer an accredited university education, we have to think bigger. Much bigger.
If we want to raise funds and ultimately get accreditation, we will need more resources.

Earlier this year we received a large grant to fund the development of an Android app. We used these funds to attract Flutter developers. We’ve released major improvements to the app.
I actively build relationships with prominent alumni in the community. Some of these people are now independently wealthy or have significant stakes in growing startups.
A donor with sufficient resources allows us to support thousands of students in our developer community. I work directly with these patrons to help maximize the impact of their gifts.
In addition to publishing tutorials, we are also experimenting with displaying display ads. These are mostly in the right margin and we do our best to minimize their impact on page load times and data usage.

Note that most of the blockchains that have come online in the last 5 years are carbon neutral, and we will primarily focus on these. When we do something on the blockchain that involves carbon emissions, we buy carbon offsets. This is the right thing to do. And we can be role models.
